87FEI87 Presents: Noise&Noise “Posthumanism”

"HUMANS ARE THE SEX ORGANS OF TECHNOLOGY," Noise&Noise says, quoting one of the inspirations behind his music, Kevin Kelly.

Noise&Noise is China’s artist equivalent of Ray Kurzweil, its musical Donna Haraway, and one of our planet’s last philosophers of the synthesizer. In his world, we humans have already lost our sovereignty to the machines. We are no longer capable of free will.

Perhaps that’s one reason 87非87 chose to offer its third EP release to the mad scientist Noise&Noise: the machines told us to.

Or, alternatively, we saw the genius in his cyborgian vision. Noise&Noise is already a living legend in the global old-school electro scene, boasting releases on seminal labels from Japan to the United States and beyond.

For the EP “Posthumanism” on 87非87, five tracks of mind-melting sound narcotics seethe and bubble, unveiling a dark universe overseen by something greater than our petty, loathsome human biology.
